Kore Technologies Operations and Support Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform technical troubleshooting for hardware and software network configuration and product related issues.
  • Perform routine troubleshooting and system maintenance tasks such as file resizing, system backups, file corruption check, etc.
  • Perform software installation and upgrades of Microsoft and Linux operating systems, Rocket UniData and UniVerse RDBMS and Kore’s Kourier and KommerceServer software.
  • Daily monitoring of client integration and data warehouse solutions, reporting and resolving issues.
  • Manage help desk support tickets and work directly with clients and internal personnel to resolve open issues.
  • Learn internal tools and comply with all procedures, standards and conventions.
  • Responsible for the support of all Kore solutions.

Technical Qualifications

  • Fundamental understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Fundamental understanding of MultiValue databases (preferably Rocket UniData, Rocket UniVerse) and Microsoft SQL Server RDBMs a plus.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with helpdesk operations and procedures.
  • Experience with hardware and software network configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with Epicor Eclipse, Epicor Prelude and Ellucian Colleague ERP systems a plus.

  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote work from home environment.
  • Effective written and interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and individuals at all levels within an organization.
  • Be comfortable working for a small, privately owned company.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently or on a team and juggle many simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of developers and clients.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and a willingness to learn and desire to excel.
  • Ability to handle confidential materials with the utmost discretion, integrity and diplomacy.
  • Ability to travel to client locations when required for projects.

Education

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
